MQL – The Politician

This project was initially supposed to be a 30-minute documentary that I was directing about Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, but the project was cut short due to COVID-19. We instead created a series of short documentaries all covering different aspects of Lucas’s life. I edited this short documentary about his time as mayor and all of the inspirations that got him there.

I made this short documentary after seeing the negative effects COVID-19 was having on impoverished people — specifically those who are homeless. It focuses on a seasonal shelter that stayed open to house homeless people when quarantine came into effect in Kansas.

Lawrence Legends

This is a video that I made to go along with a UDK article that I reported and wrote. The video and story are about five different Lawrence, Kansas locals who became local celebrities for being unique characters.
